Jewelry Shop Heist
A jewelry store surveillance camera catches a brazen daylight robbery. One by one three men armed with machetes and bags rush in the jewelry store. They order everyone to get down on the floor. However the three customers in the store are too shocked to comply with their demands and they begin to wrap up their things. The thieves know that they do not have enough time to steal and monitor the customers at the same time so they ignore the customers and immediately start smashing all the glass jewelry cases inside the store and put all the precious jewelry inside their bags. They threaten to slash anyone who gets in their way.
The thieves ransack case after case containing hundreds of precious jewels. The terrified sales clerks take cover behind the counters. Two customers are trapped in the middle of the ambush. They carefully move towards the door trying not to draw the attention of the bandits. One of the crooks spots them moving behind his back, he quickly turns around and raises up his weapon thinking they were about to attack him. They told him that they just wanted to leave the store so he let them go and continued robbing the store. It is just amazing how these armed crooks had the guts to perform this attack without realizing the multiple risks involved in the setting of this incident. To start with, the robbery happened in the after noon where they could have been easily spotted by the police, in fact the surveillance video shows cars and pedestrians moving a few feet from the store’s main entrance. Secondly the store was occupied by three clerks who might have easily turned on the security alarm of the store. The store was also occupied by customers who were not monitored saw the whole incident and were left to exit the store. These customers could have easily alerted a nearby police who could have came and arrested the culprits. However the element of surprise was too powerful for any of these risks to pose a real threat to the armed thieves.
The men quickly picked up the last bits of jewelry they could lay their hands upon and made their exit running outside the store. In a mere seventy five seconds the crocks managed to get away with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Armed and dangerous the men are still at large. The New South Whales police widely distributed the tape to this incident hoping that it will lead to the robbers arrest but a careful observation of the tape will reveal something that even the police failed to notice. The female customer on the right of the screen was trying on an expensive ring. When the crooks stormed in she slides the ring off of her finger and into her purse then she collects her things and looks for the way out. Now if one observes the customer on the left of the screen he will realize another stunning discovery. The customer starts to pack her things and leave as soon as the thieves’ barge in then she actually goes back to pick up the jewelry that she was trying on, she picks them up quickly and runs outside the store. It only goes to prove that you do not have to be armed and dangerous to pull off a jewelry heist.
