Small Sized Thief

Grocery store owner Tim Benson frequently works the register in his IGA franchise in Newbern, Australia. Tonight, a woman half his size will make him pay for that decision. It was a quiet and tranquil night for Tim as he looked after his store and waited for customers to visit the shop. Suddenly a short, skinny young woman entered the store. She was wearing a hood over her head, had a black bag hanging over her shoulder and looked very unstable. She swayed back and forth aimlessly as she slowly approached the checkout counter where the clerk was standing. Tim felt uneasy about her as she approached him and expected something unusual to come out of his interaction with her.

When she finally reached the checkout counter Tim greeted her politely and waited for her reply. Without saying a word, she started digging into her bag strapped around her shoulder. She took out something and hid it quickly in her pocket. Then, all of a sudden, she leaped over the checkout counter swinging a knife with a five inch blade at the stunned clerk’s face. If it was not for the cashier’s quick grab of her arm he would have suffered severe injuries to his face. He quickly pinned her to the wall and struggled with her to keep the knife away from him. She stabbed him twice in his arm during the struggle. After a while he felt the blood coming out of his arm and the wounded area became increasingly warm.

The clerk desperately grabbed the thief’s hand. In no way could this tiny woman compare to the clerk who had a massive body frame and weighed close to 300 lbs. Though it looks like a mismatch the woman had an internal advantage. She was a lot stronger than him at that time because she had consumed a variety of drugs that night. The clerk notices the blood and pushes the security alarm of the store which sent an emergency signal to the police. He then literally picked her up by her shirt’s collar and smacked her against the floor while pinning her to the floor by the weight of his body, this however had no effect on the savage woman. She still continues to struggle with him and attempting to stab him. All he can do is hang on for dear life against the crook.

He later explained to news reporters that if he did not manage to control her she might have killed him. She told him to give her the money, leave her alone, and she will immediately leave the store. He responded with “No way� because he believed that even if he gave her the money she will kill him since he saw her face and knows her identity. After eleven agonizing minutes of a bloody struggle police arrived. In all his years as a store operator he never thought he would face a felon like this. He explains that people generally expect misconduct and violent behavior to come from males but not from females. He also explains that God helped him immensely in his fight wit this bandit and protected his life, it is a miracle and a new life for him.
