Home surveillance video helps nab robbery suspects.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake police nabbed three men they believe are responsible for a total of 17 burglaries in several residential neighborhoods between October 14 - November 25, 2008. Police say 11 of the burglaries occurred in the Great Bridge area and six took place in the Deep Creek area of the city.

Three suspects have been arrested and identified as:

Milton Denard Branham Jr., 26 of Chesapeake. He’s currently being held on six counts of Grand Larceny and three counts Burglary.

Monique Butler, 26 of Portsmouth. He’s being held on five counts of Grand Larceny and three counts of Burglary.

Michael Stokes, 27 of Portsmouth. Stokes is being held on two counts of Grand Larceny and two counts of Burglary.

Police say the suspects stole about $80,000 worth of electronics, jewelry and gaming systems from residents in the above mentioned neighborhoods.

Officers credit a private video surveillance camera with helping track down the suspects. The video clearly shows the suspects exiting a Chevy Impala used during the burglaries, and the suspects removing items from the home and placing them into the vehicle.

Police continue to investigate and are looking into the possibility that the suspects may be linked to other burglaries in Chesapeake. Additional charges are pending against all three suspects.

Branham, Butler and Stokes are currently being held in Chesapeake City Jail.
