MYSORE: To ensure safety of tourists and people participating in the Dasara celebrations in Mysore, the state government will increase security by installing CCTV cameras in 44 prominent public junctions.Rapid Action Force personnel, KSRP platoons and bomb squads will also be deployed.According to sources, the palace board will assign the security of Mysore Palace to the Central Industrial Security Force. Security will also be increased for Dasara elephants, horses and performing artists.Clarifying that there were no terror threats to the Dasara festival in Mysore, District In- Charge Minister Shobha Karandlaje said that the installation of CCTV surveillance cameras would be complete before September 15. The cameras will monitor the movement of public and vehicles during Dasara, said the Minister.Karandlaje said that there would be uninterrupted power supply during Dasara, with the government ensuring 10 million units of power every day. “Power cuts could give scope to anti-social activities.The government will ensure that power cuts don’t come in the way of security at Mysore Palace and other venues that host Dasara cultural programmes.She added that the Dasara Committee plans to give single window passes to all journalists.
