FAQ Content:

1) Please make certain that you have typed in the correct domain name and password under the Dynamic DDNS section on the Network Setting of the DVR software. The correct domain name should be like this, avermedia.avers.com.tw. "Avermedia" is the host name that you registered thru the AVerMedia DDNS server site, and "avers.com.tw" is the domain name.

2) Did you configure your router for port forwarding? Below is the list of port numbers required on the Port Forwarding configuration:

1) 53 and 1053 for DDNS

2) 5550-5551 for Remote Console

3) 5555 for Remote Desktop on the Central Monitoring System Software

4) 80 for the Webcam. Some of the ISP may block port 80 If the ISP blocks port 80, you will need to assign another port number for the Webcam, such as port 8080. The domain name of DVR server will be http://abc.avers.com.tw:8080

*Note that all the ports are TCP only

3) Ping the domain name on the command prompt, and it should return the current IP address of DVR.

How to ping the domain name on the command prompt?

On the command prompt, type in ??¢?¢â?¬?“Ping abc.avers.com.tw??¢?¢â?¬? If it returns the current IP address of DVR, this means the server is registered to the DDNS properly. If it returns ??¢?¢â?¬?“Unknown host abc.avers.com.tw??¢?¢â?¬?, this means the server is not registered to the DDNS properly. Please contact AVerMedia Technical Support for further troubleshooting.

4) Download the Super Scan 4.0 application from this link. Run this tool and see if the proper ports for DDNS connection are opened.

1) Click on "Host and Service Discovery" tab, uncheck "UDP port scan"

2) On the "TCP port scan" section, click on "Clean All"

3) Type in 80, 5550, 5551, 5555, 53 and 1053 on Start port field, and click on "->" to add these ports for port scanning.

4) Check on "Connect" on Scan type

5) Click on "Scan" tab.

6) Type in DVR server IP address on Hostname/IP field

7) Hit the "Play Button" to run the port scanning.

8) Click on "View HTML results" to check if all the required ports are opened.
