A sixteen channel digital video capture card, the GeoVision GV-1480A-16 provides an essential component for the GV-Series PC based digital surveillance system. With the GV card, you can connect up to 16 cameras to the GV series DVR systems for real-time video recording of 480 fps (frames per second) in CIF resolution. At the higher D1 resolution, the DVR system still offers a solid recording rate of 240 fps for more detailed surveillance. The PC based digital video rrecorder (DVR) card captures live video data to your hard drive or network drive for archival purposes.
The GeoVision GV-DVR system allows for processing video, audio, and data from local and remote network surveillance environments. Using the latest version V8.5, the GV-Series surveillance system delivers high quality video performance with efficient resource management. The GV-Surveillance along with Video Management Platform supports the core system to provide performance-enhanced video monitoring and various advanced video analytics/control features for up to enterprise level security. For a system with smaller hard disk drive, the GV system features adjustable frame rate and uses the latest H.264 video compression to save storage space and money.

Sample GV-DVR Solution

Sixteen Channel Inputs
GeoVision's GV-1480A combo DVR capture card supports up to 16 cameras on a single PC based card. The digital capture card connects to a PCI-E interface slot in the computer to help quickly transfer the video images from camera to computer. Along with 16 video inputs, this DVR capture card allows for up to 16 audio devices for complete audio and video recording.
High Resolution Display
Utilizing the latest video technology, the GV-Series card offers the high resolution display of D1 quality imaging for video monitoring. D1 resolution allows for more accurate video surveillance with higher levels of details in each scene. Therefore, this geovision card will give the user a greater chance to notice and detect any possible crime that is occurring in the scene.
Real-Time Recording
Capturing a crime while the crime is occurring is what a surveillance system is designed to do. The Geovision GV-1480A-16 digital capture card empowers the user with the ability to record the video images in the real-time frame rate of 30 fps. This real-time recording is done at the standard CIF resolution with the higher D1 resolution recording done at lower frame rate.
Geo H.264 Compression
With the latest H.264 video compression, this DVR card offers a cost effective solution that will save the user money on hard drive storage space. The more efficient Geo H.264 provides the added benefit of also requiring less resource to display and record imaging for quicker video capturing.
Expandable up to 32 Channel
GeoVision satisfies the need for larger level security surveillance systems. By installing two GV-1480A-16 cards in one computer, you can expand your 16 channel GV-Series system up to a robust 32 channel system. Even with more cameras connected, this DVR capture card will still provide the same high resolution display and recording offered by the smaller 16 channel system.

I have installed this card and am currently using it in our security system. So far I've had no problems with it whatsoever. A few things I'd like to list, is information that is not readily available on the website - information I had to ask myself. - The card is PCI-E x1 - They both come with adapters for BNC - You cannot have two different cards installed at the same time as the software is specific to each card I would prefer if the card took up two slots, as it doesn't seem very stable in the PCI-E x1, and I believe two screws holding it to the case would stop any fears of snapping off the pins accidentally. The power connector on the back of the card seemed very tight. I'd recommend plugging it in before inserting the card to avoid stressing it to much. Other than that, I am satisfied with the card and it has continued to work flawlessly, as did the last capture card I purchased from 2MCCTV

YOU GUYS SUCK!! Nah, I am just kidding. I just haven't seen any thing bad on any of your reviews yet :P I monitor a multi building network in colorado and I threw one of these GV-1480's in and ran lines to all of our mainframes and use these cameras to monitor these and tie in with our remote locations. I think the GV-1480 is the only card any one should choose for this amount of cameras.
