The Samsung SRD-1650DC is a 16 channel real-time digital video recorder. It employs a built-in web server to enable remote viewing from laptops and smart phones. Samsung’s H.264 compressing technology displays the crispest image while recording at 480 FPS. The SRD1650DC can record and play videos in real-time and has 16 loop-through channels to display videos on monitors. With connections of up to 5 SATA HDDs, this DVR is ideal for a big business looking for a quality DVR at a reasonable price.
Real-Time Recording
This Samsung DVR records at a high recording rate of 480 frames per second. Divided by the number of cameras, that results with 30 FPS per camera, which is considered real-time. The SRD-1650DC is capable of recording and viewing videos in real-time simultaneously. It utilizes the advanced technology of H.264 compression, displaying top quality while conserving space on HDD.
Example of 30 FPS (480 FPS ÷ 16 cameras)
Built-in Dynamic DNS
The SRD-1650DC comes with an integrated Dynamic Domain Name System. This is ideal for a laptop or PC with a changing IP address. Having a DDNS reduces costs for the owner; otherwise the user would have to provide their own static IP address.
Motion Detection
Since it can record using motion detection (learn about motion and auto-tracking considerations), only necessary videos are recorded, not empty, eventless ones. This feature allows for saving HDD space and extends the amount of time it can record.
Email Notification
Samsung’s security system wants to keep the user up-to-date. In the case of a camera losing a signal, the system will automatically send out an email to the admin. Also, if something triggers the alarm, the DVR will notify the user by a text or a JPEG shot of the cause of the alarm.
Built-In Web Server
Samsung products have an included web server that allows access to the security system. The user is able to view recordings from a laptop or smart phone. The admin is also capable of giving authority to users for editing or simply for viewing.
