Motion Detection Record: Saves a tremendous amount of space on HDD. Although you can install 2 HDD’s with a Max of 10TB each you might still want to go for motion detection recording to get the most out of your HDD space. This option is not recommended if you need to have records of all video footage, Continuous Record is recommended.
Continuous Record: This mode allows you to record ALL video footage to Hard Disc allowing you to get every second of recording saved. If you own a business that is open 24/7 this is the best option to capture everything on video for instant or later viewing.
You will have different ways to playback the video footage that is recorded on the Hard Disk, these are: instant playback, all-day playback for the specified channel, and playback by normal/event/smart/tag/sub-periods/external file search. With this you can efficiently search for specific video footage needed.
