CAT 6 cables, also known as unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables, are a standard installation in virtually all buildings. It is used in computer, networking, and surveillance applications to connect various components to each other. It can be used with baluns in place of coaxial cable to connect the components of a CCTV system. CAT6 cables are preferred over traditional coaxial cables because they are widely available and weigh less, making them easier to pull, maintain, and replace.
