I love this. It had stupid easy directions on set up. Our DVD player quit working so we couldn’t watch the how to set up video. But the booklet had pictures and directions even a 3 yr old could follow. The email set up and notification was difficult. We still dont know how to do that, but the playback on the monitor with the mouse works great! And the monitor has a sticker letting you know the size of memory they have in it. I am very pleased with this!!

Be honest, this system is much easier than the wired ones for installation. You do not need any messy wires except the power cables. You also can use your phone to see everything through the app. It is actually waterproof cameras. The night vision function makes everything clear during the night as well.

I am one of those people that reads most reviews before buying a product and always have some trepidation when purchasing. This is definitely one of those times where the reviews were spot on. Very easy to setup right out of the box and pairing up each camera was seamless. Only thing to be aware of is that each camera needs a power supply. Very clearly noted i know but still once installed you need to make sure wiring remains looking somewhat hidden. One camera was mounted directly above an alarm sensor and once i installed cord cover looks great. Have not installed the Hard drive so not able to use all functions but our first reason to get this was to watch the new Puppy when we left the house, for that it is perfect and the price cannot be beaten.

Very easy set up- plug in camera, connect device into WiFi router, and within 20 minutes I had cameras installed. Three small screws hold the cameras in place on wall. Two adjustments help angle camera. I give the camera 5 stars but within an hour the app designated for this camera set has crashed. I uninstalled and reinstalled a different app version. I am not sure how to change the date appearing on the camera image… .

I liked how easy it was to set up this security camera system. I have one camera set up a ways from the house. This is piggybacking off of a camera on the house to get a signal from the router. Works great! The night vision is also very good. Only thing is, you have to set the camera mode to “night”, “day”, or “IR”. Installing the HDD and formatting was also very simple. I’ve never done this but watched a YouTube clip and made it very easy. For the price, I’m very happy!

The cameras are impressive for the price. They work great during the day. Its a little dark on my street at night so they aren’t as clear as I was hoping but it is probably clearer on better lit roads. Set up was easy, but here is what I wish I knew before I ordered and set up: 1.) additional hard drive and monitor does not come with the cameras and you need these to perform many functions. As far as I can tell, you need these for 24-7 recording, setting up motion detection, setting up alerts. 2.) the surveillance screen where you watch live footage on the app or on your monitor will show up in a certain order based on camera 1, 2, 3, and 4. As far as I could tell, you can not move them around on your screen so if this is important then consider figuring out which camera is which and placing them in the order you want to view them.

System arrived safely well packaged. I installed it which was easy cable attaches only one way and screw pattern lines up. Set up was easy other than trying to find where to put the cameras in range of the base. Range isn’t that far through house walls. Only one camera was put outside due to this. I’m hoping a repeater will help. Outside camera has great night vision. Happy with the camera images even through a window but night vision won’t work through a window. Have had it for about a month and everything is still working well. Make sure to protect the power adapters since they are not weatherproof. Ace Hardware sells a pod that protects its connection with an outdoor extension cord. Also make sure to find the little silicone plugs in the camera boxes (easy to overlook) to put in the ethernet socket of the cameras. Overall happy with the system.

First thing’s first, if you truly want to get the most out of this product, such as automatic email notifications, push notifications on a smartphone for alerts, the ins-and-outs of the video recorder’s operating system, etc, be prepared to spend some time trying to figure stuff out and involve in back and forth with tech support and doing your own research. Having technical knowledge prior to buying this is also a plus.
To use one of my own examples of this becoming apparent, the email alert situation only took me about 10 minutes to solve, but there is no way someone who isn’t tech savvy or someone who gets easily dismayed when they see computer networking would’ve had an easy of a time with that as I did.
Now that that’s out of the way, I wanna say a few other things about the system:
The setup was a breeze. The system is about as plug-and-play as you can get. I plugged everything in and it all worked within seconds. Awesome.
The ability to watch on multiple clients is really easy to achieve, and one of the things that’s well documented on in the guide. They are simple to work with and I feel are very reliable. Awesome, again.
The video recorder’s operating system is very solid. Aside from the lack of documentation on the software included with the product, I only have one really minor complaint. Navigating through the menus with only a mouse can be a bit tedious. but I think I’m just being picky. While I did have to figure a lot out on my own, it really did have everything I needed it to – and left a lot of room for me to upgrade the systems if that is something I decide on doing in the future.
The video footage is what’s important – and I can’t argue with 1080 video.
To summarize, I really would’ve preferred if I didn’t have to do so much back and forth and also do my own research to figure out how the system works. Overall, this is a pretty solid security camera system that ticks every box I wanted it to, but the poor documentation keeps me from saying it’s perfect.
Would recommend to people who are more on the tech savvy side, or to people who don’t mind paying for professional installation and set up.

This seems to be a pretty good system.
I have a small vacation house where we spend several months every year. I purchased this system to keep an eye on my primary home while we were staying at the vacation house, and was planning to get another one for the vacation house if this one worked as advertised.
The first thing I noticed was that the included cameras automatically connect and work when you plug them in. Easy! They have good images, and seem to work well in both daylight and darkness. The video was pretty clear, but a little jaggy on straight lines, which makes me think it’s not really 1080p but some lower resolution.
Whilst playing around in the settings, I found a setting to add ONVIF cameras. I told it to search, and it found one of my existing cameras and added it to the mix! I was impressed by this, even though it only found one of the two ONVIF cameras that I have online. With a little experimentation I was able to get the other one online. So far so good!
I set up motion detection and tried playing back some of the videos it recorded. If you want to see an event, such as someone breaking into your house, you have to know approximately what time it happened. You can turn on motion detection which will help a lot, but here are no thumbnails or any other way of finding events, outside of just watching the videos and looking for trouble. Granted, if you know approximately when the event happened, you can load the video for that time and watch in fast-forward mode (up to 32x) until you spot the event happening.

This is a great system I set it up earlier and it works perfectly. The video quality is so much better than I thought it would be. Its super easy to set up all you have to do is plug in the box and Ethernet cable and plug in the cameras. I am very happy with this purchase.

Overall this is a good product. Like anything else made these days, its not super tough and there are sone critical components that are plastic. Everything came packaged nice and not broken. Installing the first camera I overestimated the strength of the mount and broke it while trying to position it. Knowing this, I was overly gentle with the next two. All the others went up with no incident. so happy with that. installing was very easy too. Video playback and software is very easy to understand.

Disclaimer: I am a professional who installs and maintains Large Business Camera Systems. I purchased 4 extra cameras. The installation was super simple. For me, it was easy to mount the cameras close to and outlet. All provided in the box. The four cameras were already “Discovered” and it was simply plug them in and poof there you go. The quality of the video is very good. IR Night vision is very great, if you want to see someone who is outside your door in pitch blackness, this will do the trick.

Easy connectivity of six cameras with one repeater. One camera looks straight down my 1000′ long driveway and during the day can see if a vehicle or a deer, for example, is on it. Night vision of the driveway cuts off at about 150′ but if there is a full moon it is the full 1000′ length. Motion detection is sensitive as rain and snowfall will trigger a camera. Also at night each camera emits its own IR waveform which is picked up by other cameras looking at that area–so on the monitor it looks like the yard is actually illuminated by light fixtures when it is actually pitch black.

I already have a 4 channel system that uses the same cameras as this one so it was an easy upgrade to utilize the full capacity of this 8 channel system. There were no instructions for adding additional cameras so it was up to me to figure out how to make everything communicate. Once that the first camera was done the rest were easy. No wires to run unless you don’t have electricity where you want to locate the camera. Overall for the money it’s a pretty good system

residential use, super nice easy to work , installed on a 28×60 modular home , cameras are mounted under the eve outside ,video recorder box is in the center of house, in the living room behind the tv. great signal , Daytime use the cameras are very vivid, and show great detail from all angles, nighttime is very good , I mounted the transformers for the cameras in a 6×6 weathertite box, used an extension cord splitter doohickey from the hardware store and fixed to the house on bottom, ran 110v to the box ,power cord to camera is roughly 10-12 ft long , ran it behind the corner of vinyl siding. You will need a HD to record . Super nice unit for the money

It has awesome night vision, the only problem I had is you can’t identify someone at a distance, they have to be pretty close to get a good image. Hoping that when I get the new camera with 1080p/2mp that it looks better for my front door at least, but it works great for seeing whats going on around you, caught someone in my front yard while chilling watching movies and getting a 2 way audio system to let them know cops are coming if I’m not home, if I am they better move faster! I like how visible the cameras are to make the statement that hey I’m watching and the app works really well as well. I can view them just about anywhere I have cell phone service, the video recorder is easy to navigate and work. Had cameras installed in no time thanks to only having to run a power wire. The wifi setup was easy after I figured it out. Overall a good product.

Picking out cameras is not easy but I am glad I got these and the price was good, they are easy to install, and the picture is good. I actually installed these on a Sunday afternoon and by 11am the next morning I had my Christmas decorations stolen out of my front yard. I am so glad I had hard drive and was able to play back the video to get a clear picture of the plates, her face and all her movements. We then blasted her on social media after contacting the Sheriff and guess what the next morning about 10 am she pulled in on the side with a hoodie and brought back our decorations, still visible from my 3rd camera. But I am going to print of the manual to see if that helps, because the print on the information you get in the boxes is small. If there is not a motion notification to my phone, they do have a camera that I will order to add to my current system. Also one plug didn’t work and one of the extended antennas was broken so they gave me a credit for the value of the camera, so the return policy and tech support was good! Other than that these are totally worth it.

The first 4 cameras automatically conected and then with a little reading I used the delete/replace camera instructions to add the extra two camera’s. Only gets 4 stars because the PC web access is not as usuer friendly as the Moble app. Moble app works great from home and away from home. Not sure why others only works at home – maybe they should try to restart phone away and off the home network and re sign in the app. You will get a lot more BANG for your buck with this system vs Ring – Arlo. Set up was a breeze, truly plug and play.
As soon as you power up the video recorder and a camera, it’s on with a very clear picture.
The range isn’t too bad, although I have another system that does better. I have all 4 of these cameras around the house about 25-30 feet away. They’re broadcasting through the outside of the house of course, and I’m pulling 4 out of 5 bars on signal strength. No freeze up or lag time noted.
Cons:
You might want to use good quality mounting screws, especially if you plan to use a drill to put them in.
The camera’s put out 1080 pixels and it is great.
Overall all this system is a big bang for the buck and I would definitely recommend it if you want a reliable affordable home security system.

I have purchased hundreds of items through 2M and have actually never written a review before, but I was so impressed with this system I was compelled to do so. I put this on my Christmas wish list based on customer reviews and I’m confident it was the right choice. Initial setup was a piece of cake. Basically just plug everything in. Placement of the VR and Cameras got a little tricky but the ability to extend range by using one camera as a repeater for a second camera was a terrific solution. After several configurations I found a setup that worked for me and allowed me to place the VR in my entertainment center where I could connect it to our primary big screen for viewing. I strongly recommend following instructions to NOT permanently mount cameras until you have them ALL placed with a suitable signal strength to the VR. Slight moves of cameras or the VR can make a difference. You do however have to have them oriented with proper antenna positioning as that makes a big difference, so I did end up with a few spare screw holes when I was finished. I also found that distance was more of a factor in signal strength than standard construction obstructions (i.e. wood studded walls). Steel siding signal killer. I’m impressed with Video Quality, Night Vision, Playback Functionality, and the Android app. My only concern is the -4 deg F temperature rating. I’m up in the north and we’ll definitely see some significant sub zero temps. I guess if picture quality or signal strength deteriorates in those cold conditions I can live with it. But I assume any cold weather affects will be temporary and not destroy the camera’s. I guess we’ll find out. I’ll update after experiencing some frigid temps.

The instructions for the first-time setup are very easy to follow. It only took about 10 minutes to set up the system. My priority at the time of purchase was to buy a camera system that’s and records continuously without any issues. I was impressed with the camera, the night vision is excellent and it covers the good distance. It’s weatherproof and detects when someone is in front of the cameras. I’m honestly loving this camera system. The playback feature is pretty good and I can watch all the movements on my mobile phone! The setup really couldn’t be any easier. They are truly plug and play.
Things worth noting:
While they are a traditional plug for power you may need an electrician to install power outlets depending on where you intend to install your cameras. In my case I had an electrician come out and put power outlets in my attic and mounted the cameras on the four sides of my home. If you are less picky and depending on your application I suppose you could just run an extension cord.
A monitor is not required BUT it will provide you with the most reliable visual feed as it would be connected directly to your video recorder. Also it is going to make set up much easier and give you better access to settings as it is a direct connect to the video recorder. Alternatively, you can use the App, your browser or a desktop download. I recommend utilizing all of the methods to discover pros and cons. A detailed explanation of these methods are provided with the easy to read instructions that come with the cameras.
Very easy to install in the video recorder. Replace the included screws and plug in the included SATA cable and you are good to go.
My only complaint which is significant is that the motion detection is way too sensitive. The only place I’ve been able to find an adjustment is in the browser extension but it didn’t do me any good. It will record essentially everything regardless if there is motion or not. This actually bothers me a lot because the most practical method of video capture is obviously motion detection. Wish they put a little more emphasis on this feature. The system does allow for other recording methods such as recording at specific days and times.

This is the best security camera that I have used for my home surveillance thus far. Well, I purchased 2 sets prior to this one, and after using this for a while now, I am very comfortable saying that this security camera system set has exceeded my expectation for both the installation process and the image quality of the machine. I love this. It had stupid easy directions on set up. Our DVD player quit working so we couldn’t watch the how to set up video. But the booklet had pictures and directions even a 3 yr old could follow. The email set up and notification was difficult. We still dont know how to do that, but the playback on the monitor with the mouse works great! And the monitor has a sticker letting you know the size of memory they have in it. I am one of those people that reads most reviews before buying a product and always have some trepidation when purchasing. This is definitely one of those times where the reviews were spot on. Very easy to setup right out of the box and pairing up each camera was seamless. Only thing to be aware of is that each camera needs a power supply. Very clearly noted i know but still once installed you need to make sure wiring remains looking somewhat hidden. One camera was mounted directly above an alarm sensor and once i installed cord cover looks great. Have not installed the Hard drive so not able to use all functions but our first reason to get this was to watch the new Puppy when we left the house, for that it is perfect and the price cannot be beaten.

I liked how easy it was to set up this security camera system. I have one camera set up a ways from the house. This is piggybacking off of a camera on the house to get a signal from the router. Works great! The night vision is also very good. Only thing is, you have to set the camera mode to “night”, “day”, or “IR”. Installing the HDD and formatting was also very simple. I’ve never done this but watched a YouTube clip and made it very easy. For the price, I’m very happy!

The cameras are impressive for the price. They work great during the day. Its a little dark on my street at night so they aren’t as clear as I was hoping but it is probably clearer on better lit roads. Set up was easy, but here is what I wish I knew before I ordered and set up: 1.) additional hard drive and monitor does not come with the cameras and you need these to perform many functions. As far as I can tell, you need these for 24-7 recording, setting up motion detection, setting up alerts. 2.) the surveillance screen where you watch live footage on the app or on your monitor will show up in a certain order based on camera 1, 2, 3, and 4. As far as I could tell, you can not move them around on your screen so if this is important then consider figuring out which camera is which and placing them in the order you want to view them.

System arrived safely well packaged. I installed it which was easy cable attaches only one way and screw pattern lines up. Set up was easy other than trying to find where to put the cameras in range of the base. Range isn’t that far through house walls. Only one camera was put outside due to this. I’m hoping a repeater will help. Outside camera has great night vision. Happy with the camera images even through a window but night vision won’t work through a window. Have had it for about a month and everything is still working well. Make sure to protect the power adapters since they are not weatherproof. Ace Hardware sells a pod that protects its connection with an outdoor extension cord. Also make sure to find the little silicone plugs in the camera boxes (easy to overlook) to put in the ethernet socket of the cameras. Overall happy with the system.

First thing’s first, if you truly want to get the most out of this product, such as automatic email notifications, push notifications on a smartphone for alerts, the ins-and-outs of the video recorder’s operating system, etc, be prepared to spend some time trying to figure stuff out and involve in back and forth with tech support and doing your own research. Having technical knowledge prior to buying this is also a plus.
To use one of my own examples of this becoming apparent, the email alert situation only took me about 10 minutes to solve, but there is no way someone who isn’t tech savvy or someone who gets easily dismayed when they see computer networking would’ve had an easy of a time with that as I did.
Now that that’s out of the way, I wanna say a few other things about the system:
The setup was a breeze. The system is about as plug-and-play as you can get. I plugged everything in and it all worked within seconds. Awesome.
The ability to watch on multiple clients is really easy to achieve, and one of the things that’s well documented on in the guide. They are simple to work with and I feel are very reliable. Awesome, again.
The video recorder’s operating system is very solid. Aside from the lack of documentation on the software included with the product, I only have one really minor complaint. Navigating through the menus with only a mouse can be a bit tedious. but I think I’m just being picky. While I did have to figure a lot out on my own, it really did have everything I needed it to – and left a lot of room for me to upgrade the systems if that is something I decide on doing in the future.
The video footage is what’s important – and I can’t argue with 1080 video.
To summarize, I really would’ve preferred if I didn’t have to do so much back and forth and also do my own research to figure out how the system works. Overall, this is a pretty solid security camera system that ticks every box I wanted it to, but the poor documentation keeps me from saying it’s perfect.
Would recommend to people who are more on the tech savvy side, or to people who don’t mind paying for professional installation and set up.

This seems to be a pretty good system.
I have a small vacation house where we spend several months every year. I purchased this system to keep an eye on my primary home while we were staying at the vacation house, and was planning to get another one for the vacation house if this one worked as advertised.
The first thing I noticed was that the included cameras automatically connect and work when you plug them in. Easy! They have good images, and seem to work well in both daylight and darkness. The video was pretty clear, but a little jaggy on straight lines, which makes me think it’s not really 1080p but some lower resolution.
Whilst playing around in the settings, I found a setting to add ONVIF cameras. I told it to search, and it found one of my existing cameras and added it to the mix! I was impressed by this, even though it only found one of the two ONVIF cameras that I have online. With a little experimentation I was able to get the other one online. So far so good!
I set up motion detection and tried playing back some of the videos it recorded. If you want to see an event, such as someone breaking into your house, you have to know approximately what time it happened. You can turn on motion detection which will help a lot, but here are no thumbnails or any other way of finding events, outside of just watching the videos and looking for trouble. Granted, if you know approximately when the event happened, you can load the video for that time and watch in fast-forward mode (up to 32x) until you spot the event happening.

Overall this is a good product. Like anything else made these days, its not super tough and there are sone critical components that are plastic. Everything came packaged nice and not broken. Installing the first camera I overestimated the strength of the mount and broke it while trying to position it. Knowing this, I was overly gentle with the next two. All the others went up with no incident. so happy with that. installing was very easy too. Video playback and software is very easy to understand.

Disclaimer: I am a professional who installs and maintains Large Business Camera Systems. I purchased 4 extra cameras. The installation was super simple. For me, it was easy to mount the cameras close to and outlet. All provided in the box. The four cameras were already “Discovered” and it was simply plug them in and poof there you go. The quality of the video is very good. IR Night vision is very great, if you want to see someone who is outside your door in pitch blackness, this will do the trick.

Easy connectivity of six cameras with one repeater. One camera looks straight down my 1000′ long driveway and during the day can see if a vehicle or a deer, for example, is on it. Night vision of the driveway cuts off at about 150′ but if there is a full moon it is the full 1000′ length. Motion detection is sensitive as rain and snowfall will trigger a camera. Also at night each camera emits its own IR waveform which is picked up by other cameras looking at that area–so on the monitor it looks like the yard is actually illuminated by light fixtures when it is actually pitch black.

I already have a 4 channel system that uses the same cameras as this one so it was an easy upgrade to utilize the full capacity of this 8 channel system. There were no instructions for adding additional cameras so it was up to me to figure out how to make everything communicate. Once that the first camera was done the rest were easy. No wires to run unless you don’t have electricity where you want to locate the camera. Overall for the money it’s a pretty good system

residential use, super nice easy to work , installed on a 28×60 modular home , cameras are mounted under the eve outside ,video recorder box is in the center of house, in the living room behind the tv. great signal , Daytime use the cameras are very vivid, and show great detail from all angles, nighttime is very good , I mounted the transformers for the cameras in a 6×6 weathertite box, used an extension cord splitter doohickey from the hardware store and fixed to the house on bottom, ran 110v to the box ,power cord to camera is roughly 10-12 ft long , ran it behind the corner of vinyl siding. It has awesome night vision, the only problem I had is you can’t identify someone at a distance, they have to be pretty close to get a good image. Hoping that when I get the new camera with 1080p/2mp that it looks better for my front door at least, but it works great for seeing whats going on around you, caught someone in my front yard while chilling watching movies and getting a 2 way audio system to let them know cops are coming if I’m not home, if I am they better move faster! I like how visible the cameras are to make the statement that hey I’m watching and the app works really well as well. I can view them just about anywhere I have cell phone service, the video recorder is easy to navigate and work. Had cameras installed in no time thanks to only having to run a power wire. Picking out cameras is not easy but I am glad I got these and the price was good, they are easy to install, and the picture is good. I actually installed these on a Sunday afternoon and by 11am the next morning I had my Christmas decorations stolen out of my front yard. I am so glad I had hard drive and was able to play back the video to get a clear picture of the plates, her face and all her movements. We then blasted her on social media after contacting the Sheriff and guess what the next morning about 10 am she pulled in on the side with a hoodie and brought back our decorations, still visible from my 3rd camera. But I am going to print of the manual to see if that helps, because the print on the information you get in the boxes is small. If there is not a motion notification to my phone, they do have a camera that I will order to add to my current system. Also one plug didn’t work and one of the extended antennas was broken so they gave me a credit for the value of the camera, so the return policy and tech support was good! Other than that these are totally worth it.

The first 4 cameras automatically conected and then with a little reading I used the delete/replace camera instructions to add the extra two camera’s. Only gets 4 stars because the PC web access is not as usuer friendly as the Moble app. Moble app works great from home and away from home. Not sure why others only works at home – maybe they should try to restart phone away and off the home network and re sign in the app. You will get a lot more BANG for your buck with this system vs Ring – Arlo. As soon as you power up the video recorder and a camera, it’s on with a very clear picture.
The range isn’t too bad, although I have another system that does better. I have all 4 of these cameras around the house about 25-30 feet away. They’re broadcasting through the outside of the house of course, and I’m pulling 4 out of 5 bars on signal strength. No freeze up or lag time noted.

You might want to use good quality mounting screws, especially if you plan to use a drill to put them in.
The camera’s put out 1080 pixels and it is great.
Overall all this system is a big bang for the buck and I would definitely recommend it if you want a reliable affordable home security system.

I have purchased hundreds of items through 2M and have actually never written a review before, but I was so impressed with this system I was compelled to do so. I put this on my Christmas wish list based on customer reviews and I’m confident it was the right choice. Initial setup was a piece of cake. Basically just plug everything in. Placement of the VR and Cameras got a little tricky but the ability to extend range by using one camera as a repeater for a second camera was a terrific solution. After several configurations I found a setup that worked for me and allowed me to place the VR in my entertainment center where I could connect it to our primary big screen for viewing. I strongly recommend following instructions to NOT permanently mount cameras until you have them ALL placed with a suitable signal strength to the VR. Slight moves of cameras or the VR can make a difference. You do however have to have them oriented with proper antenna positioning as that makes a big difference, so I did end up with a few spare screw holes when I was finished. I also found that distance was more of a factor in signal strength than standard construction obstructions (i.e. wood studded walls). Steel siding signal killer. I’m impressed with Video Quality, Night Vision, Playback Functionality, and the Android app. My only concern is the -4 deg F temperature rating. I’m up in the north and we’ll definitely see some significant sub zero temps. I guess if picture quality or signal strength deteriorates in those cold conditions I can live with it. But I assume any cold weather affects will be temporary and not destroy the camera’s. I guess we’ll find out. I’ll update after experiencing some frigid temps.

I haven’t had the time to write a review. But, I bought this camera package about 6 months ago. The quality is of great cameras are great. The cameras are well built and look awesome from outside. The instructions for the first-time setup are very easy to follow. It only took about 10 minutes to set up the system. My priority at the time of purchase was to buy a camera system that’s and records continuously without any issues. I was impressed with the camera, the night vision is excellent and it covers the good distance. It’s weatherproof and detects when someone is in front of the cameras. I’m honestly loving this camera system. The playback feature is pretty good and I can watch all the movements on my mobile phone! Compare to blink I think this is a better choice if you want continuous recording.

This system is very easy to install, just plug in and go. I hooked it up to a computer monitor and was amazed by the crisp Hi-def picture. The Night vision is amazing. The setup really couldn’t be any easier. They are truly plug and play.
Things worth noting:
While they are a traditional plug for power you may need an electrician to install power outlets depending on where you intend to install your cameras. In my case I had an electrician come out and put power outlets in my attic and mounted the cameras on the four sides of my home. If you are less picky and depending on your application I suppose you could just run an extension cord.
A monitor is not required BUT it will provide you with the most reliable visual feed as it would be connected directly to your video recorder. Also it is going to make set up much easier and give you better access to settings as it is a direct connect to the video recorder. Alternatively, you can use the App, your browser or a desktop download. I recommend utilizing all of the methods to discover pros and cons. A detailed explanation of these methods are provided with the easy to read instructions that come with the cameras.
Very easy to install in the video recorder. Replace the included screws and plug in the included SATA cable and you are good to go.
My only complaint which is significant is that the motion detection is way too sensitive. The only place I’ve been able to find an adjustment is in the browser extension but it didn’t do me any good. It will record essentially everything regardless if there is motion or not. This actually bothers me a lot because the most practical method of video capture is obviously motion detection. Wish they put a little more emphasis on this feature. The system does allow for other recording methods such as recording at specific days and times.

This is the best security camera that I have used for my home surveillance thus far. Well, I purchased 2 sets prior to this one, and after using this for a while now, I am very comfortable saying that this security camera system set has exceeded my expectation for both the installation process and the image quality of the machine. It is basically just plug and play, there is no need extra set up which most cameras would need you to do. Images are clear and very smooth. Good cameras.

I wanted a system that works with the modest signal of my network and 2M security camera system meets my expectation of a security system. It has 4 cameras that can be used any where my signal can reach. The system is installed without difficulty because the instruction manual is clear. It is also easy to use the system once everything is set up. The pictures of the cameras are clear and the system detects motions very well. The system also allows to adjust the cameras according to the outside environment.
