Veilux brings the latest in analog video surveillance with the VR-8960H-S. This Veilux HD DVR is a 960H digital recorder that comes with all the bells and whistle. The VR-8960H-S offers the superior resolution of recording with a 960H DVR.
Analog cameras in the market today can view image up to 700 TV lines, but the problems lies with how much resolution a DVR can record. Most standard analog DVRs can record up to D1 resolution (720×480) which is a small image than the camera can view. The answer is solved with a 960H HD DVR that will allow the DVR to record up to 700 TV lines.

Great product and seems very versatile. Had no issues setting it up and was recording video in an hour. The app is great too and works well.

amazing user interface. Takes time to set up DVR and remote devices, worth the effort. ordered to to replace a 3 year old DVR with a 6TB drive. got DVR with no HDD, saved $159 for the HDD. By default entire screen is selected for motion sensing. un-select all, select areas for motion sensing. HDD will save more days than if you record everything. have 8 HD cameras and using about 300 meg / day.

Update: First off, this company has absolutely stellar customer support. They have been a huge blessing in getting me past the crash issues I originally encountered. I’ve received two firmware updates which greatly enhanced the stability of the product (and they even responded on a Saturday). I’ve increased the rating from my original one star to four. Here’s why: While you can configure the system to do continuous recording, or event-based (motion) recording, it doesn’t appear that you can select which one on a per-camera basis. It’s a global setting. But the big thing for me is that you cannot schedule motion-based notifications. In other words, I’d like to only be notified of motion outside of my normal business hours. While there is a work-around if you are using the mobile app, it’s not automatic (you have to enable / disable notifications).

I have had it for a week now, very easy to setup, more friendly software to use, most dvr’s require an I.T. to install to view remotely, can even view on computer, overall so far great buy.
